Police seized illicit timber in Ganderbal
Srinagar: Police in Ganderbal seized illicit timber at Hayanpalpora Kangan area of Ganderbal, a police spokesman said Friday.
Acting on specific input about timber smuggling at Hayanpalpora Kangan, a police party of PS Kangan under the close supervision of SDPO Kangan Syed Yasir Qadri-JKPS raided the particular spot and seized illicit timber from a person identified as Abdul Karim Kumar son of Ghulam Mohammad Kumar resident of Hayanpalpora Kangan.
However, the accused person involved in the commission of crime managed to escape from spot and efforts are on to effect his arrest.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 21/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kangan and further investigation set into motion. Moreover, efforts are on to nab the persons involved in the commission of crime, the spokesman added.
