Patalbagh Pampore residents demand repair of road
Pulwama: The residents of Patalbagh in Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have appealed higher authorities to repair the main road in the area.
Locals said that the road was macadamised some 10 years back and since then no macadamisation has taken place.
They said that due to dilapidated condition of the road, they are unable to visit to other places especially during wet weather conditions.
The residents said that they have been running from pillar to post pleading before authorities of Roads & Buildings Department (R&B), successive deputy commissioners and other higher authorities for last four years for ensuring the macdemisation of the road.
They said that when authorities of R&B were asked as to why they left this road without macdemisation they are often being told that it will be taken up next year, but all this proves a ploy to divert our demands.
The local residents appeal Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to look into the matter for redressing their long pending grievance.
Meanwhile, Assistant Executive Engineer R&B Pampore said that road has Paddy fields on both sides due to which the road has caved in at many places.
He said that road needs protection from both sides and the height also needs to be raised height so that percolation of water from paddy fields won’t affect it.
He added that they a preparing a project for the road and it will be covered under NABARD as it can’t be covered under district or state sector.
