Police arrests drug peddler in Awantipora
Srinagar: Police in Awantipora arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Friday.
He said that based on credible information, a Police party arrested one drug peddler identified as Nisar Ahmad Khanday son of Ghulam Hassan resident of Chersoo Awantipora and recovered 15Kgs Poppy Straw from his possession. He has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 19/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
