Zirpora Bijbehara shopkeepers await rehabilitation

Bijbehara: The shopkeepers whose shops were demolished around two months back in Zirpora area of Bijbehara town in Anantnag district await for rehabilitation.
The shopkeepers said that before the demolition of their shops the administration asked them to cooperate with them and they will be rehabilitated within 10 days.
They added that they cooperated with administration and even at the time of demolition they were assured that they will be rehabilitated vey soon.
They further added that after demolition they met officials who asked them to make temporary arrangements of their own as they can’t construct shops for them during the winters.
The aggrieved shopkeepers added that once shopkeepers started to make temporary arrangements by constructing tin sheds but some officials started objecting to it.
“Our goods worth lakhs are lying at our homes and they are getting spoiled there,” a shopkeeper said.
He said that they have taken loans to start their businesses but leaving us in such a condition will prove disaster for us and the administration is responsible for it.
They requested higher ups to look into the matter at an earliest on humanitarian grounds so that they can heave a sigh of relief.
