Dark soul
Syed Atya Tabassum
I remember the clear sky gazing at me, When the sun was scattering its splendor, covering every hidden corner of the Universe
Was it trying to impress me by showing its majesty?
Wow! That mesmerizing shine of the sun
Which was showering mercy of light
Unto my ruinous body and make me glitter.
Suddenly a query hit my conscious
‘But what about my soul?’
The thundering and lightning of clouds
Was creating cracks into my stiff dark covering
Sharp arrows of light were piercing into my soul
Was it easy to feel that huge hollowness?
The sun was stressfully trying to scatter that light in my inner universe
Probably trying to let the deserted garden bloom again
Or want to nurture the ditched nature of my heart
Was it so smooth to swipe that smokiness which was scattering over my soul?
I was wondering how?
How will it spread the splendor in this dimness?
While wandering in my hollow and deserted garden
A black flower said to me “Let it enter and make cracks”
May be its confidence will break the obstinacy of darkness
Ah! Those lines were flashing into my inward eye again and again
So I did the same and let “it” enter
It was so scorching which can’t be borne, but I accept the scars which the rays left while entering
And saw how the deserted garden bloomed again and spread its splendor everywhere.
