Chersoo Awantipora residents rue lack of basic facilities

Pulwama: The residents of Kutpora Chersoo village in Awantipora hamlet of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district are up in arms against the administration as according to them the area has been completely neglected by the successive governments.
The residents of the area said that they have no proper road connectivity despite that it is just one kilometre from the Jammu-Srinagar National highway.
They said that condition of road is so bad that they are unable to move out of and the situation turns critical in case of medical emergencies.
They further added that the existing transformer in the area is critically overloaded due to which it gets damaged frequently.
The locals added that whenever they get power supply, the voltage drops to a level where it is impossible to use any gadgets using electricity.
There are several households in the area who don’t have any access to drinking water facilities, they added.
“We have brought these issues into the notice of higher ups several times but to no avail,” the locals added.
They requested concerned authorities to look into the matter at an earliest so that they can heave a sigh of relief.
