DDC representative accused of producing wrong information
Opponents petition authorities, seek her removal
Anantnag: The DDC representative from south Kashmir’s Achabal-1 constituency Sameena Hussain of National Conference has been accused of producing wrong information to State Election Commission (SEC) about her actual residence for contesting elections to DDC Constituency Achabal.
In her complaint her opponent Shagufta Shafi has claimed that DDC representative Sameena Hussain hails from Astan Mohalla Kanihama, Magam Budgam as she is married to a resident identified as Aafaq Ahmad of Astan Mohalla Kanihama and lives there since many years now.
Sources said that Shagufta Shafi has accused the DDC representative of producing the wrong information to SEC about her actual residence for contesting elections to DDC Constituency Achabal.
“This has been done willfully so as to contest the elections,” Shafi wrote to the SEC authorities.
Meanwhile, the SEC has deputed an officer to conduct an inquiry following the complaint by one of the contestants.
Sources said that the Officer on Special Duty deputed by State Election Commissioner after conducting the enquiry has requested the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir for an early disposal of the matter as per rules.
