Police arrests bootleggers in Bandipora
Srinagar: Police in Bandipora arrested two bootleggers and recovered 15 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession, a police spokesman said Monday.
He said that police personnel at a checkpoint established at Pazalpora near forest Check Post intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK01K-9517 with two persons on board.
The persons were identified as Reyaz Ahmad Ganie resident of Ayatmulla and Javaid Ahmad Ahanger resident of Bankoot.
During search officers were able to recovered 15 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody. The vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized, the spokesman added.
Accordingly, case FIR No. 03/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Pethkote and investigation into the matter has been initiated, he said.
