Poem
Mushtaq Hurrah
An unending night of gloom
And despair, caged me
To a corner of my room
I dragged the curtain
Of my window
Very hesitantly
The eclipsed moon
And the fractured stars
Are cursing their fate
A Terrible silence
Engulfed the earth
As if every soul
Has flown to the heavens
There is howling wilderness around
My eyes are craving
For a ray of light
Has the time ceased to pass?
My heart grew very anxious
I lost every hope of dawn
Finally, my Lord
Came to my rescue
Allahu-Akbar!
The voice went shriller
Into my ears
Alhamdulillah!
I cried in joy
The Dawn is near
The gloom is about to vanish
I went for the ablution
To express my thanks and gratitude
