Ongoing schemes of RDD, PR reviewed in Jammu : Officers asked to identify two heritage works in their areas

JAMMU: Commissioner Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mandeep Kaur, Monday reviewed progress on implementation of ongoing schemes of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj department in Jammu district.
The meeting was attended by Chairman, District Development Council Jammu, Bharat Bhushan, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Anshul Garg; Mission Director JKRLM, Dr Sehrish Asgar; Director Rural Development Department Jammu, Mohammad Mumtaz Ali; DDC members; BDCs Chairmen, BDOs and other concerned officers.
Threadbare discussion was held on various issues pertaining to Human Resource Status, UT Capex Budget, PMAY (G), MGNREGA, Swachh Bharat Mission (G), RGSA, 14th FC, RURBAN and other departmental schemes.
Commissioner Secretary dismayed over slow progress on several works under some schemes and directed the concerned officers to expedite the pace of ongoing development works. She asked the officers for uploading details of completed works on departmental portal for information of the concerned. She stressed the need for further simplifying the tendering system for better implementation of schemes. The Portal should also include list of officers so that people can know about their area officers and take up with them their issues and concerns for redressal.
Commissioner Secretary also discussed in detail the availability of block wise funds and their utilization, so far. She directed the BDOs to follow the proper process of allotment of works so that development works are not hampered on this account. She asked for consultation with all the BDCs, DDCs and PRIs for identification of works in their respective areas. She directed the concerned officers to identify two heritage works in their concerned areas so that a unique identity can be created of that area. She also directed to identify at least two works per block besides asking for geo tagging of all the works which have been completed under various department schemes.
She said that Mahatma Gandhi NREGA is an Act based scheme which should be taken more seriously adding that role of Panchayat representatives is important in Gram Sabha plans. She directed for expediting the works under the Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana besides clearing payment of first installment for approved works by February 10. She said under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, every village has a Swachhta plan which needs to be implemented in letter and spirit. She asked the officers to ensure completion of all works under 14th FC before March 31.
Commissioner Secretary instructed the officers to submit annual action plan of each scheme before 15th February.
She also reviewed Rurban Mission and directed for speedy completion.
During the meeting, a PowerPoint presentation was also made by concerned officers apprising of the latest progress on ongoing schemes. Besides, detailed discussion was held on financial and physical achievements, availability of funds, non convergence works, convergence works, pending liability, infrastructure for DCCs and BDCs office buildings, Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, MGNREGA etc.
Commissioner Secretary also listened to demands and grievances of DDCs, BDCs and PRIs assuring an early redressal to the same.
