Police arrests two drug peddlers in Kulgam

Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in south Kashmir’s Kulgam and recovered contraband substances and illicit liquor from their possession, a police spokesman said Monday.
He said that based on a specific input, a Police Party from Police Station Qazigund conducted a raid at specific location in village Check Badwani Qazigund.
During checking, officers were able to recover 2Kgs of Poppy Straw and 45 bottles of illicit liquor from the residential house and arrested two persons identified as Nisar Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Mohammad Mir resident of Telwani Anantnag AP Badwani Qazigund and Mohamad Yaseen Malik son of Ghulam Ahmad Malik resident of Chek Badwani Qazigund. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody, the spokesman said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 12/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigation is in progress, he added.
