Anantnag: The residents of Frislan Pahalgam hamlet of Anantnag district on Thursday staged a protest and demanded better road connectivity to the area, reports said.
The protestors raised slogans against the administration for failing to construct the road in the area which is lying in dilapidated condition.
They said the road in the area was constructed by Rural Development Department in 2012 and since then no work has been done on it to upgrade it.
They added that they had requested R&B department to construct the road after which estimate and other formalities were completed but due to unknown reasons work on the project did not start.
The locals said that in absence of any proper road connectivity they are suffering and whenever there is an emergency situation they have to carry patients on their back to the main road.
They alleged that time and again they have brought it in notice of higher ups but to no avail.
The locals once again requested concerned authorities to look into the matter so that the issue is resolved.
