Noorpora Awantipora residents demand better facilities

Pulwama: The residents of Rather Mohalla in Noorpora area in Awantipora hamlet of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have demanded better facilities in the area.
The residents said that they suffer for want of better power, road and water facilities in the area.
They said that their existing transformer is critically overloaded due to which it often develops technical snag after which area often reels under darkness.
They added that due to heavy load the 63 KVA transformer fails to provide electricity to the residents.
Besides, the low dangling electric wires often fall on ground which can lead to an accident anytime, the locals said.
They further added that area has no proper road connectivity due to which school going children and elderly people are suffering.
They further added that the area has no drinking water facilities and the women folk has to tread for more than two kilometers to fetch potable water.
Locals claimed that they have brought these issues into the notice of concerned authorities several times but to no avail.
They once again requested higher ups to look into the matter at an earliest so that they can heave a sigh of relief.
