SKIMS Paramedics, Nursing staff stage protest: Demand extension in services

Srinagar: The Paramedics and the Nursing staff of SKIMS Soura here in Srinagar who are working on the academic arrangement basis for the last six months Monday staged a protest demanding the extension of their services.
Witnesses said that the Paramedics and the Nursing staff assembled at Srinagar’s Press Enclave and appealed to government to extend their academic arrangement period.
They said authorities had issued an order when they were engaged that clearly stated that they can continue till they are not regularized.
The protestors said that they have been raising the issue, but no action has been taken so far.
The protesting paramedics said that they have been continuously working during turmoil and are still working during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
“We have approached every concerned offical but justice has been denied to us by the administration,” they said.
The protesting paramedics appealed to the Lt Guv Manoj Sinha to consider their issue regarding their extension and regularization. (KNT)
