Maqbool Ahmed Bhatti
Millions of thanks and blessings to Allah Almighty that He has exalted man with the best blessings of the world and at the same time made him superior to the creatures. If man wants to count his blessings, he cannot count them.
One of these great blessings is also the parents who have been blessed by Allah in the form of love and compassion. It is very difficult to find a loving and kind person in the world like a parent. The love and affection of parents lasts from childhood to adolescence and even for life. These are the parent, who after seeing their children in trouble their heart goes out and they sacrifice their life and property to get rid of their children’s worries. Then why at all should a human disobey or neglect his parents.
I have no words to describe the greatness of parents. I do not have the strength in these lifeless and sinful hands to describe the greatness and glory of my parents. Because these are the great beings whom Almighty Allah has exalted on us.
But today’s children have trampled on the dignity of their parents. I have often seen parents being humiliated by the children of this modern age. When this scene comes in front of the eyes, the heart pounds with pain and anguish and tears roll down the cheeks. Then a question comes to mind, how can a child do such a thing?
Parents are the cause of our creation in this world. There is no substitute for their greatness and importance in this world. From our birth to our youth, parents strive for our happiness and do their best to make their children happy in some way or the other and because of this they are able to meet their own legitimate needs.
Just because we are happy, we don’t have any problems, we compromise with the situation and we don’t let the heat come on us. It is a well-known fact that only two people are happy with the success of a child, one is the parent and the other is the teacher who has taught him. Because other people in your life may or may not be loyal to you. So support your old parents, never ignore them because they are the ones who always pray for your success.
Allah (SWT) strongly urges to treat your parents with kindness: Treat your parents kindly, treat them well and obey them. Therefore, man should gain the pleasure of Allah (SWT) by obeying his parents and gaining their pleasure.
Because the person on whom the shadow of the parents remains a mercy, the person finds the ability to solve the most difficult tasks of the world and the world looks at him with respect. Therefore, a person who treats his parents kindly, for such a fortunate person, even the jinn and human angels pray and cry out: O Mawla! Have mercy on him as he had mercy on his parents and served them.
Allah, the Exalted, said in the fifteenth verse of the Holy Qur’an: Your Lord has commanded that you worship none but Him and be kind to your parents. If one or both of them reach old age, do not call them off.
But woe to the children who, instead of treating their parents well, have made it a habit to throw them out of the house, to hurt them and to show them other immoral things. Such children should learn a lesson from this blessed verse that when Allah, the Exalted, has not allowed human kind to even utter a whisper against the parents or against their wish, then how they He tolerate the abuse of the parents.
Those who do so are not only humiliated and disgraced in this world, but they are doomed in the hereafter. Where Allah Almighty has commanded His worship, He has also said: Beware of disobedience of parents, treat them well and do not harm them in any way.
This is an ample proof of the greatness of the parents, treating parents kindly means not doing anything that hurts them and serving them in every possible ways and means. The Hadith also emphasizes the importance of treating parents well, so the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said that a person who harms his parents will not smell of Paradise.
This shows that a person who treats his parents well will not be deprived of the fragrance of heaven. There is another Hadith that Hazrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! What are parents to us? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: They are for you both Paradise and Hell. If pleasure is obtained then they are paradise for you and if you hurt them in your life, did not serve them and separated from them and kept company with other people then know that they are hell instead of paradise for you.
May Allah grant longevity to the parents of all and grant health to those whose parents are ill and grant them long life and keep them in good health and forgive those whose parents have departed from this world and grant them high position in paradise. And make every child good and obedient and make it pleasing to you and your beloved Messenger.
Oh, Allah we are all very sinful, forgive our sins and help us walk on the right path. Ameen.
