Grenade found inside pressure cooker in old city
Successfully destroyed by BDS: Police
Srinagar: A grenade was found inside a bag in which a pressure cooker was fitted by wires that was successfully destroyed by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) at Khawjabazar area of Nowhatta, Srinagar, police said Friday.
A police official said that the BDS found a grenade inside the pressure cooker placed in a bag at Khawaja Bazar aea of the city.
“The grenade was found and successfully destroyed. The lever of the grenade was also recovered from the spot,” the official said.
Soon after the bag was recovered traffic was halted on the road and people were advised to stay away from the spot.
However, after the grenade was diffused the movement of traffic was allowed on the road.
