Anantnag: Students of Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Anantnag whose exams for various trades are schedule to be held from 16th of ongoing month have demanded change in their examination centres.
Student and parents said that authorities have decided that exams of various trades will be held at a private Institute in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district.
They said they fail to understand why and how authorities have choosen this Institute when computer labs are available at ITI Anantnag and other nearby Institutes.
Showkat Ahmad, parent of one of the student said that they live in Kapran area and ITI Anantnag was central located for everyone and reaching Bijbehara will be a cumbersome affair for the students.
He said that when computer labs are available at ITI Anantnag, polytechnic college Larkipora and Govt degree college Dooru so authorities should have chosen either of these labs as exam centres.
He said that students from our area will face difficulties in reaching Bijbehara to attend exams.
Parents and students have appealed higher authorities to look into the matter and change the exams centres at an earliest so that they can appear in exams without facing any difficulties.
Principal ITI Anantnag Masood Ahmad, when contacted said that that conducting examination is not in their domain as they are only giving training.
“The exams are conducted by authorities in Delhi and they have designated these exam centres,” he said.
He said that the institution has no role in it and authorities from Delhi have outsourced these exams to an Institute from Bijbehara and everyone knows about it.
