Locals say transformer develops snags frequently

Pulwama: The residents of Kungnoo village in Trenz hamlet of south Kashmir’s Shopian district are up in arms against PDD for having failed to repair the damaged transformer in the area. The locals alleged that the transformer develops technical snag frequently.
Inhabitants said that power development department has miserably failed to repair their transformer fully saying that it has failed to resolve frequent damage to the common electric transformer.
Locals said that transformer which was installed three years back is developing technical snag every month resulting in immense hardships to them.
They said that people used their own resources and repaired the transformer dozens of times but it gets damaged frequently.
They said in last one month the transformer has got damaged four times due to which the entire locality is reeling under darkness.
They further added that time and again authorities of the department were informed to look into the matter, however, on ground nothing happened.
Locals urged the concerned authorities to repair the transformer at an earliest and provide adequate power supply to the area.
An official of the PDD said that the transformer is being repaired and will be installed in next two days.
