Police facilitates public interaction meetings in Baramulla, Ganderbal

Srinagar: As a part of public outreach programme and to strengthen Police-public relationship, Police facilitated series of Police-public interaction meetings in Baramulla and Ganderbal. These meetings were held while following social distancing norms and other Covid protocols, a police spokesman said in Srinagar on Saturday.
He said that police in Baramulla facilitated Police-public interaction meeting at Police Post Palhalan. The meeting was chaired by SSP Baramulla Rayees Mohammad Bhat-IPS, besides SDPO Pattan, SHO Pattan, DO PP Palhalan and other officers were also present. Public from all corners of Palhallan including respectable citizens, PRIs, Auqaf committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars, traders federations and various market associations attended the public meeting.
During the interaction meeting, participants raised various issues of public importance. SSP Baramulla assured them that their genuine grievances will be resolved on priority and every possible help will be provided to the people of the area and issues related to civil administration will be taken up with concerned departments for their early redressal.
Similarly, Police in Ganderbal also facilitated police-public interaction meeting at Police Post Nagbal. The interaction meeting was chaired by DySP Hqrs Ganderbal Abdul Maajid-JKPS, besides DDC Candidates of Nagbal, SHO PS Ganderbal and DO Police Post Nagbal were also present. The meeting was attended by respectable citizens, teachers, doctors, Auqaf members, students, Sarpanchs and Panchas of the area.
During the meeting, the participants raised several issues pertaining to Police and civil authorities including drug menace, traffic management, unemployment and other social issues. The chairing officer assured the participants that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority while as other issues related to civil administration will be taken up with concerned authorities for their early redressal.
The chairing officers in these meetings sought cooperation from the participants in maintaining peace & stability in these areas, besides eradicating various social evils especially drug menace and gambling. They also stressed on the participants to take extra care of their children so that they do not fall prey to anti national and anti social elements. The participants were also requested to cooperate with Police in maintenance of law & order and identifying anti-national elements who try to disrupt the peaceful environment.
The participants in these meetings assured their full cooperation to Police in tackling social evils and also appreciated the efforts of Police in facilitating such community interaction meets where participants express their opinions freely.
