Police arrests four militant associates
Srinagar: Police alongwith security forces arrested four militant associates linked with proscribed terror outfit JeM and recovered incriminating materials including arms and ammunition from their possession, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
He said that acting on specific input, police along with 50RR and 110BN CRPF apprehended four militant associates linked with proscribed outfit JeM. They have been identified as Zubair Gul son of Ghulam Mohmmad Ganie, Adil Fayaz Ganie son of Fayaz Ahmed Ganie, Basit Ali son of Ali Mohammad Dar all residents of Samboora and Shahid Nabi Pandith son of Ghulam Nabi Pandith resident of Konibal Pampore.
Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including pistol, and a hand grenade were recovered from their possession.
During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the arrested militant associates were in touch with JeM commanders and were involved in transportation of arms and ammunition. Besides, they were providing shelter and other logistic support to the active militants operating in Samboora and Pampore areas of Awantipora.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pampore and further investigation has been taken up, the spokesman added.
