Pulwama: The residents of Khangund village in Tral hamlet of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday staged protest and demanded better facilities in the area.
The protestors said that they are facing problems due to unscheduled power supply in the area besides that link roads in the area are in dilapidated condition.
They said since 2013, they have been visiting offices of PDD authorities to upgrade the existing transformer or to provide new transformer in the area as the existing one is critically overloaded.
“There are dozens of areas in our locality where transformers have been given to just few households but whenever we visit the offices of authorities we are asked to provide feasibility report first,” they alleged.
Despite providing feasibility years back, no attention is being given towards our demand due to which residents are suffering, they said.
They added that link roads of the village are also in dilapidated condition due to which residents are facing huge problems.
The protesting locals requested higher ups to look into the matter at an earliest and provide new transformer to the area besides repair link roads in the area so that locals can heave a sigh of relief.
