Pulwama: The residents of Bangidaar Gutroo area of Tral hamlet in Kashmir’s Pulwama are up against the government for failing to provide basic facilities to the area.
The people of the area said that they are facing shortage of drinking water since decades but no attention is being given towards the issue.
“We are forced to drink contaminated water in absence of safe potable water and our repeated pleas to concerned officials are falling deaf ears,” they said.
The residents complained that there is no proper road connectivity to the area due to which people face lot of difficulties while commuting.
They said that since past 40 years the locals have been demanding a bridge over a nallah flowing in between Gutroo and Bangidaar but all the pleas have been ignored and politicians have been making false promises to the people for long now.
“Whenever the flow of water in the nallah increases, they remain out of touch with the rest of the world for weeks together,” they said, adding that they are forced to get food supply from other village and in absence of bridge they are forced to carry all their essential commodities on their back.
They added that during emergencies the people have to face difficult and tough situations.
Locals said that they have brought these issues in notice of higher ups several times but to no avail.
They said that area has been neglected since last 70 years and they don’t have any hope now as since decades the promises made to them have proved hoax on ground.
The locals now urged the LG Administration and District Administration to look into the matter and provide basic facilities to the area.
