Contraband drugs racket busted in Sopore, four drug peddlers held
Sopore: Police on Friday claimed to have busted a contraband drugs racket and seized huge consignment of drugs from the accused in north Kashmir’s Sopore area, a police spokesman said.
He said that consequent upon a reliable information from a reliable source a special team established a Naka at Ladoora crossing and intercepted drug peddlers identified as Muhammad Ramzan Dar S/o. Bashir Ahmad Dar of Ladoora Rafiabad, Nazir Ahmad Sheikh S/o Muhammad Sultan Sheikh of Nadihall Rafiabad, Umer Yousuf S/o Mohammad Yousuf Lone of Nadihal Rafiabad and Farooq Ahmad Ambar S/o Ghulam Nabi Ambar of Amberpora Tarzoo Sopore and recovered 1008 Capsules of ‘Spastrancan Plus’ and Sposmoproxyvon capsules from their possession.
Police said that more arrests are expected and all links and threads are being analyzed minutely to nab the culprits who are involved in the conspiracy.
A case FIR No 195/2021, U/S 8/22 and 29 of NDPS Act stands lodged at Police Station Dangiwacha Rafiabad and a SIT has been constituted to investigate the case thoroughly, the spokesman added.
