Pak trying to radicalize youth in Kashmir: DGP
Reviews security situation in south Kashmir
Jammu: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh on Wednesday blamed Pakistan for trying to radicalize the youth in Kashmir.
“Pakistan agents and their handlers here are trying very hard to radicalise the youth of J&K and involve them in militancy,” the DGP said during his visit to south Kashmir where he reviewed the security situation.
The DGP said that J&K police is making every effort to stop involvement of youth and have remained successful in bringing misguided youth to their home and parents.
He said that Pakistan agents and their handlers are hell bent to disturb the peace here.
“Pakistan and their agents are trying to push more militants during winter season via Rajouri, Poonch and Bandipora, Kupwara borders,” he added.
He said that our security forces protecting our borders and police in the hinterland are active to thwart any attempt of infiltration.
During his visit to south Kashmir districts of Anantnag and Pulwama, the DGP chaired an officers meeting to take stock of the security scenario at DIG South Kashmir Range office at Anantnag . He later visited Pulwama district to compliment Police and Security Forces for killing two militants in an encounter today.
IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar and DIG South Kashmir Range Abdul Jabbar accompanied the DGP during his visit to district Pulwama.
He was received by SSP Pulwama Ghulam Jeelani Wani, ASP Pulwama Tanveer Ahmad and other gazetted officers of the district.
The DGP while addressing media persons in Pulwama said that today’s encounter was a successful operation of Police and security forces in which two militant commanders of proscribed outfit JeM were killed.
He said that Yasir Parray who was known as an IED expert had joined the militant group in 2019 and was involved in various terror incidents. He was involved in killing two Army officials and injuring some others by triggering an IED blast.
The DGP said that the other foreign militant was known as Ali Bhai and he too was involved in various terror incidents.
He said that the duo were working together in radicalising youth and were involved in a dozen FIRs. The DGP said that a number of civilians have sighed a relief today as the duo had created a fear in the lives of locals.
Complimenting the Police and security forces for successful operation the DGP said that it was clean operation without any collateral damage. He complimented the local people for their cooperation and behavior.
“At times some people get involved in unlawful activities during encounters,” he added.
The DGP said that people of south Kashmir have always been cooperative and there is no law and order situation because of public support. He said that police and people have been working together for peace. He said that Police and security forces are working in great synergy to eliminate remaining terrorists of terror outfits to maintain the peace and order.
