Litter residents complain pesky power cuts

Pulwama: The residents of Litter area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have alleged that power development department of resorting to unscheduled power cuts making the locals suffer.
Locals from area said that their area isn’t getting power supply as per the winter schedule which was announced earlier.
They said that they are hardly getting power supply for few hours since last several days causing lot of trouble to the people during the bone chilling winter.
Unscheduled and frequent power cuts are persistent in the entire area since last two weeks but there is no body to take cognizance of the issue, said shabir Ahmad a local.
Since November beginning the power development department has failed to ensure proper power supply as per their curtailment schedule which affects the residents quite badly, he added.

Similarly residents of other villages of Litter belt have alleged that after every two hours, the area witnesses power cuts that too for hours together.
“We took up the issue with authorities who are assuring us of improvement in the power schedule, but on ground nothing happens,” said locals from Litter, Rakh, Zahid Bagh, Darbagh and other areas.
They requested concerned higher ups to look into the matter at an earliest so that locals can heave a sigh of relief.
