DGP sanctions special welfare relief

Jammu: Director General of Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 49 lakh special welfare relief for the families of deceased police personnel, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
Under an order Rupees 22 lakh special welfare relief has been sanctioned in favour of dependents and legal heirs of deceased SgCt. Tanveer Ahmad who expired due to illness, he said.
Under another order of PHQ, the DGP has sanctioned Rupees five Lakh each in favour of dependents and legal heirs of deceased SPOs Imtiyaz Ahmad, Pritam Chand, Daya Krishan and Mudasir Fayaz. Rupees six lakh has been sanctioned in favour of family members of deceased SPO Rattan Chand. These personnel have passed away during the course of their engagement with the department.
Pertinently, police headquarters has sanctioned over Rupees 40 crore as Ex-gratia and Special welfare relief in favour of martyred/ deceased police personnel during this year.
