Police arrests six notorious drug peddlers
Srinagar: Police in a series of actions arrested six notorious drug peddlers in Pulwama, Sopore and Budgam and recovered huge quantity of Psychotropic substances from their possession, a police spokesman said.
In Pulwama, police arrested two drug peddlers in two separate actions in Rajpora and Tahab areas. They have been identified as Ishrat Mansoor Ganaie @Sameer son of Mansoor Ahmad Ganaie resident of Meemander Ganaie Mohalla Shopian and Mohammad Ayoub Mir son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir.
During checking, offices were able to recover huge quantity of psychotropic drugs from their possession. They have been shifted to respective Police Stations where they remain in custody. Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective Police Stations and further investigations have been initiated.
Similarly in Sopore, Police party of Police Station Sopore during patrolling apprehended two notorious drug peddlers identified as Aqib Nisar Gojree @Aqib Goure son of Nisar Ahmad Gojree resident of Batpora A/P Model Town and Irfan Ahmd Gazi @Raju Gazi son of Abdul Khaliq Gazi resident of Yaseen colony Arampora Sopore, the spokesman added.
On checking, officers were able to recover 60 bottles of Codeine, 288 capsules and Brown Sugar from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 276/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Sopore and further investigation is in progress.
Moreover in Budgam, Police party of Police Station Magam intercepted 02 persons during naka checking at Batpora Kanihama. They have been identified as Abdul Majeed Pandith son of Ghulam Nabi Pandith resident of Batapora Kanihama and Nisar Ahmad Wani son of Bashir Ahmad Wani resident of Roshanabad Mazhama. During search, 11 bottles of Codeine Phosphate & 190 tablets of Clonazepam were recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody. Case FIR No. 251/2021 under relevant sections law stands registered at Police Station Magam and investigation set into motion, the spokesman added.
