DC Srinagar holds Public Grievance Redressal Camp

SRINAGAR: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Saturday visited Nowgam area of Channapora Tehsil and presided over Public Grievance Redressal cum Awareness Camp under Block Diwasn initiative, to bring administration to door steps of people for on spot resolution of public issues.
Vice Chairman, District Development Council, Srinagar, Bilal Ahmad, other PRI members and people of Nowgam, and other adjoining areas were part of the Public Grievance Redressal Camp.
While Chief Planning Officer Srinagar, District Programme Officer, ICDS, SDM East, General Manager, DIC, Tehsildar Channapora, District Panchayat Officer, Block Development Officer, District Social Welfare, Assistant Commissioner Labour and other District Officers were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, scores of public delegations, individuals projected various issues and demands before the Deputy Commissioner including upgradation and macadamization of link road, strengthening of Health Centre, upgradation of Middle School Nowgam, augmentation of Water supply in the area, construction of sump, installation/repairs of street lights, ATM facility and improvement in power supply, local youth demanded for construction of playground in the area.
The DC after giving patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, sought on the spot response from the concerned District Officers present during the Grievance Redressal Camp.
He also assured them that all genuine demands and issues projected by them will be taken up with concerned authorities on priority. The DC also gave on the spot direction to the concerned officers for time bound redressal of the public issues.
Addressing the gathering, the DC said the purpose of observing Block Diwas/ Youm-e Block is to take appraisal of local issues from the general public for precise and onground assessment for their time bound redressal.
During the Camp, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Srinagar gave a detailed awareness about various welfare schemes of the Government including social security measures to improve socio-economic conditions of the working class and to the empowerment of the Labourers to enable them to take benefits from these welfare schemes such as Compensation to Workers for Injury or Death, entitlement to Medical insurance and package of other Welfare schemes for building and construction workers.
Later, the DC distributed Sports kits among young players of different local teams, while appreciation certificates were also given to Frontline Covid Warriors working in the area.
