SKUAST-K signs MoU for stem cell research
Srinagar: SKUAST-K Shalimar Thursday signed a MoU for stem cell research, a spokesman of the varsity said.
He said that the signing ceremony was held at Directorate of Research, SKUAST-K and the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Cell Med Biotech Pvt Ltd and Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir.
The MOU is aimed at joint collaborative Stem cell R&D/ Investigational/Academic/ Clinical trial projects and related activities in Veterinary Sciences, he added.
The two parties shall jointly identify the research problems and formulate its work plan. SKUAST-K as a research institute shall provide ethical and institutional approvals besides, conducting the research work while the financial expenses required for the stem cell research and its demonstrations or presentations in workshops/ conferences shall be arranged by the CellMed Biotech Pvt Ltd, the spokesman said.
The research projects shall be jointly monitored by in-house stem cell monitoring committee. All the rights, title and interest in and to any inventions, improvements and discoveries created in carrying out the work plans shall be jointly owned by SKUAST-K and CellMed, he added.
