Police seizes huge quantity of illicit timber
Ganderbal: Police seized huge quantity of illicit timber from forest area of village Hilpatti Hankar Gund in Ganderabal, a police spokesman said.
Acting on specific input about timber smuggling, a police party seized 21 logs of illicit timber from the forest area of village Hilpatti Hankar Gund, he aid.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 48/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Gund and further investigation set into motion. Moreover, efforts are on to nab the persons involved in the commission of crime.
The drive against timber smugglers will continue to ensure protection of green gold, the spokesman added.
