Police recovers kidnapped minor girl in Budgam, accused held
Srinagar: Police recovered a kidnapped minor girl and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
He said that on 31st of October police received a written complaint from one person stating therein that his minor daughter was kidnapped by one person identified as Mohammad Iqbal Shah son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shah resident of Dreygam Khansahib.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 237/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Khansahib and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, a team was constituted to trace and rescue the kidnapped girl. Acting on specific leads and by utilizing all available means, the team was able to recover the kidnapped girl from Rajouri and also arrest the accused person involved in the commission of crime. The accused has been shifted to PS Khansahib where he remains in custody, the spokesman added.
After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl was been handed over to her legal heirs. Further investigation into the matter is in progress, he added.
