Police arrests drug peddler in Anantnag
Srinagar: Police Saturday arrested a drug peddler in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said.
He said that a police team laid a checkpoint at Janglatmandi Ashijipora in Anantnag and apprehended a drug peddler identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Akhoon son of Nazir Ahmad Akhoon resident of Bilal Mohalla Janglatmandi Anantnag.
During search, officers were able to recover 02Kgs of Charas Powder from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Anantnag and further investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
