Black bear caught in Tral village
Pulwama: Officials from the Wildlife department on Saturday caught a black bear in Saimoh village of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Officials said that a black bear was roaming in the area for the past few days due to which fear had gripped the locals of the village.
They said soon after receiving the information a team of wildlife officials reached the area and accordingly a cage was installed in the village.
They added that a bear was captured on Saturday in the area.
Locals thanked wildlife officials for their efforts and said that now they will be able to go to orchards for their work.
“Few more bears are roaming in the area,” they said, while requesting authorities to make efforts to capture them too.
A wildlife official said that a black bear has been caught in the village and they are going to free him in the forest areas after medical checkup.
He added that since last one month they were after the bear after they had received information about its presence in the area.
“So far three black bears have been captured in the area since last few months and in coming days more cages will be installed to capture more bears,” he said. (KNO)
