Illegal excavation: Police seizes nine tippers, arrests drivers

Srinagar: Police in Budgam arrested nine persons and seized the vehicles used for illegal excavation and transportation of minerals, a police spokesman said.
He said that police personnel during naka checking at Soibugh market seized nine tippers bearing registration numbers JK01AG-7570, JK03B-8720, JK03B-8991, JK13C-4104, JK01C-8434, JKO5A-5908, JK05B-8498, JK01AG-4311 and Chasis number 21858 for illegal excavation and transportation of minerals in district Budgam.
Police also arrested the drivers of the said vehicles who have been identified as Muzamil Bilal resident of Nasrullahpora, Jahangir Ahmed Ganie resident of Kakanmaran, Asif Farooq resident of Patlibagh, Maqsood Ahmed Dar resident of Nasrullahpora, Samiullah Parray resident of Gariend Kalaaan, Anayat Hussain resident of Batpora, Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir resident of Galwanpora, Ajaz Ahmed son of Ghulam Mohammad Malla resident of Bemina & Ajaz Ahmed Mir son of Ghulam Rasool Mir resident of Bemina, the spokesman added.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR number 331/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation has been set into motion, he said.
