DC Poonch reviews progress of land acquisition cases of Army

POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet chaired a joint meeting of Revenue and Army departments to discuss the land acquisition, Requisition, De-Requisition and Misc issues pertaining to defence land here at conference hall of DC office Complex Poonch.
The meeting was attended by Col. J Aswinder Singh and Lt. Col. Paramjeet Singh of Station Headquarter 93 Infantry Brigade Poonch, Lt. Col. G. S Dillon, Station Hqr. Krishna Ghati Lt. Col. B.S Negi of Station Hqr B.G, Head Quarter Assistant Jahangir Hussain, Tehsildar Haveli Anjum Bashir Khan Khatak, Tehsildar Mandi Shazad Latief Khan, Tehsildar Surankote Sheraz Ahmed, Tehsildar Mendhar Gorav Sharma, Tehsildar Mankote Abdul Qayoum, Tehsildar Balakote Qadir Rehman besides all Concerned Naib Tehsildars and other revenue officials were present.
In the meeting, threadbare discussion on all the issues pertaining to defence land were held covering all the land hiring cases.
In some cases, revenue documents were required by the concerned army units along with their English version and the Tehsildars were given 10 day time to provide the same to concerned Army units.
During the discussion, many issues pertained to joint spot verification/demarcation of defence land were raised and for disposal of such cases it was decided that a schedule for joint verification of all such cases shall be issued by DC office for conduct of demarcation/ joint verification in a time bound manner by joint teams of revenue, ADEO, and concerned army units by officials.
It was also observed that at a few locations, spot verification is very difficult. It was decided that ADEO, Tehsildars and concerned officers of the Army units shall examine the issues and proceed further accordingly.
In the meeting, the army representatives also raised issues of violation of Works of Defence Act (WODA)/ NOC guidelines. The chair viewed the matter seriously and the concerned tehsildars were directed to strictly ensure that no such violation takes place on the ground in future.
Several cases of delayed rental compensations were also brought in where appropriate directions were issued to the concerned officers and officials for speedy disposal of the cases.
Lastly, directions were issued to all the Tehsildars/ Revenue Officials to speed up disposal of all the held up issues and cases so that genuine land owners get their compensation on time.
