Shepherd drowns in river Jhelum at Sopore
Sopore : A 20-year-old shepherd drowned after he slipped into the river Jhelum in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday afternoon, reports said.
They said that the 20-year-old shepherd identified as Nazir Ahmad Cheechi son of Mohammad Yousuf Cheechi a resident of Bandipora is feared dead after he slipped into river Jhelum in Seer Jagir area of Sopore on Wednesday afternoon.
Soon after the shepherd slipped into the river authorities including the SDRF launched a rescue operation, however they could not locate the body till late evening.
