KVIB Kashmir organises Bankers Meet

Review progress under PMEGP, JKREGP

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB), Wednesday organized Monitoring and Bankers Meet to review progress of schemes implemented under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and J&K Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP) in Kashmir Division.
The meeting was co-chaired by Vice Chairperson KVIB, Dr Hina Shafi Bhat and Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole at Banquet Hall, Srinagar.
At the beginning of the meeting, KVIB officers gave a detailed presentation on performance of KVIB Kashmir Division under PMEGP for the year 2019-20 to 2021-22 and JKREGP.
The meeting held deliberations on the wide range of issues including sanctioned cases for loan, rejection of cases by banks, pendency of cases besides increasing the performance under the schemes to help youth to establish their industrial units.
Speaking on the occasion, VC, KVIB asked representatives of various banks not to reject cases on frivolous issues instead approve the cases so that youth will not feel dejected. She enjoined on the Bankers to clear the cases of ex-servicemen on priority basis.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir on the occasion showed satisfaction over the target achieved under the schemes and stressed on the Bankers to follow guidelines to reduce pendency of cases approved by KVIB.
He also asked Bankers to sensitize branch officers of their respective banks regarding disbursement of loan cases for entrepreneur units of applicants.
The meeting also discussed the MIS report with regard to cases sponsored, cases sanctioned, Margin Money disbursement cases rejected in respect of ex-servicemen and war widows under PMEGP.
It was also informed that JKREGP is a credit linked subsidy Programme aimed to harness and divert the energy and enthusiasm of the youth for establishment of productive enterprise in the micro industrial sector and to create employment opportunities in rural areas of J&K.
Besides, it was informed that subsidy at thirty five percent is uniformly applicable under JKREGP and unemployed youth of age group 19-40 are eligible under the scheme.
The meeting was attended by CEO J&K KVIB, President Government Schemes J&K Bank, Dy CEO KVIB, Vice President UTLBC, Convener Bank, General Managers of Grameen Bank, Ellaquai Dehati Bank and State Cooperative Bank, DGMs of State Bank of India and Punjab National Bank, Assistant KVIC Pampore and District Officers of KVIB.
