MC Sopore organizes week long awareness programme
Sopore: A week long awareness programme as a part of celebrations under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ continued with enthusiasm at Dak Banglow Sopore on Saturday.
Additional deputy Commissioner Sopore Parvaiz Sajad, President municipal council Sopore Masarat Rasool Kar, councillors of MC Sopore, Auqaf committee presidents, members of traders federation, coordination committee and economic alliance Sopore, Safai Karamcharis, besides scores of students and local people attended the event.
Director Urban Local Bodies Kashmir, Mathoora Masoom also visited the event and encouraged the president, other employees and safai karamcharis of municipal council Sopore for conducting such an impressive event.
She also distributed appreciation awards among them for making the event successful.
As part of the celebrations of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” to commemorate the 75th year of independence, the week which was commencing from 27th September to 3rd October has been earmarked for highlighting the various activities. In this context, municipal council Sopore organised an awareness programme under the themes of “Safaimitra Samman Samarih” “Kachra Alag karo” “Safai jan Bhagidari Utsav” etc to create awareness about cleanliness amongst the people.
During the programme paucity of various civic action plans in Sopore town particularly in municipal wards and other social responsibilities among the localities were also discussed.
Speaking on the occasion, the president municipal council Sopore Masarat Rasool said that the aim of this week long awareness programme is to accelerate the efforts to achieve sanitation coverage in all streets and wards of the town and to put the focus on cleanliness.
