DLSA’s of various districts launch cleanliness drive on ‘Gandhi Jayanti’

SRINAGAR: On the eve of Gandhi Jayanti, the Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar, Noor Mohammad Mir Saturday launched a cleanliness drive under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ campaign at District Court Complex, Mominabad, here. The drive was launched under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority and the guidance of Mohammad Akram Chowdhary, Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Principal District & Session Judge) Srinagar.
Panel Lawyers, officials and Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA Srinagar and employees of Municipal Corporation Srinagar also organized a cleanliness drive on the occasion under ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ and initiated the cleanliness drive at Court Road, Moominabad Srinagar, by picking up the broom to clean the dirt and aware the people neither to litter nor let others to litter.
A sense of responsibility was also evoked among the people during this cleanliness drive/campaign.
Among others, Panel Lawyers, NGOs, Law students and Para Legal Volunteers and employees of Srinagar Municipal Corporation participated in the programme.
AT BUDGAM: As part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ campaign, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Budgam today launched ‘Swachh Bharat Campaign’ in collaboration with Municipal Council Budgam.
A cleanliness drive was kick started by Muhammad Ashraf Malik Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge) Budgam. The thematic cleanliness drive was organized with an aim to clean the surroundings particularly the water bodies.
Chairman DLSA, Secretary DLSA, Executive Officer Municipal Council Budgam, Police, PLVs, Students, Employees and the general public participated in the drive.
The PLVs of DLSA Budgam along with employees of Municipal Council Budgam cleaned a water body in the main town at Budgam by removing all the garbage and waste. The collected waste was filled and loaded in vehicles of municipal council and disposed away properly.
On the occasion, ‘Nukkad Natak’ was also presented on the streets by artists on the theme giving a clear message to public for keeping the surroundings clean.
The program was followed by rally of students from different schools, which was flagged of Chairman DLSA Budgam.
The students participated in the drive by holding placards and banners in their hands on the theme and marched on the streets of main town Budgam from the District Court Complex Budgam.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman DLSA Budgam said that cleanliness is must for living a civilized life, this event will go a long way in promoting the cleanliness habits amongst the people.
Furthermore, the Municipal Council Budgam also launched a scheme wherein around 1200 dustbins (dry and wet) were distributed in the Budgam town.
Similar Swachta Abhiyan was held at other Tehsils including Beerwah, Magam, Chrar-i-Sharief and Khansahib.
AT GANDERBAL: In order to commemorate the 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ganderbal, organized a cleanliness drive under “Bharat ka Amrit Mohathsav” here today.
The Chairperson District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal, Shazia Tabasum launched the drive from the District Court in which Secretary DLSA Ganderbal Tabasum besides staff members, PLVs and staff members of Municipal Council Ganderbal participated.
The cleanness drive was held in District Court Complex Ganderbal, Munsiff Court Kangan and Main Market Ganderbal and Kangan.
During the drive, plastic and other non-decomposable waste was collected which was disposed of appropriately.
In Kangan, the cleanness drive was launched by Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee “Munsiff/JMIC” Kangan, Kartar Singh.
The campaign was held through mobile van in Tehsil Kangan in which Common people and Shopkeepers were made aware about the proper disposal of the Waste products. “Prabhat Pheris” was also held in morning at Kangan.
An awareness rally was also held with Vijay Memorial School Ganderbal in which students displayed legal awareness cards and made General public aware about the importance of the day and about various Issues.
Paying tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal said that it is our collective duty to keep surroundings clean. She said that Gandhi Ji always gave the message of cleanliness and the duty of every citizen is to contribute to this common cause to ensure a healthy environment.
AT KULGAM: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kulgam today inaugurated 45 days long awareness programme viz. ‘Pan India Awareness and Outreach’ as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ campaign.
Chairman DLSA, Kulgam, Tahir Khurshid Raina along with Presiding Officer Fast Track Court Kulgam Som Lal, Chief Judicial Magistrate Kulgam, Manzoor Ahmad Zarger and Secretary District Legal Services Authority Kulgam, Mehreen Mushtaq Malik inaugurated the programme.
In his inaugural speech, Chairman explained the concept of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and its relevance with Legal services Institutions .
Along with this, an awareness programme regarding Gandhi Jayanti was organized to mark the beginning of 45 days long awareness campaign.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman emphasized upon the need of mental cleanliness in addition to physical cleanliness. He highlighted the role of M.K. Gandhi in India’s freedom struggle and emphasized on the principles he believed upon.
To celebrate Gandhi Jayanti placards were displayed, prabhat pheris were organized and Cleanliness drive was started at ADR Centre Kulgam with the help of Municipal committee Kulgam.
Special progarmmes were also organised at D.H.Pora and Qazigund, presided over by Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee D.H.Pora and Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee Qazigund respectively in collaboration with respective Municipal Committees.
