Block Diwas: DDC Srinagar listens to public grievances at Harwan

SRINAGAR: As part of public outreach programme, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Thursday presided over Block Diwas at Harwan Block of Srinagar.
The programme among others was attended by members of District Development Council, Block Development Council and Sarpanchs, Panchs besides a large number of local inhabitants.
While Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Khurshid Ahmad Shah, Assistant Commissioner Development, Bilal Mukhtar, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, Dr Deeba Khalid, District Social Welfare Officer, Akhoon Ashraf, Block Development Officer Harwan, besides officers of PHE, PDD and R&B, and other concerned Departments were also present.
During the Block Diwas programme cum grievance redressal camp held at Nayabat Harwan, scores of delegations and individuals apprised the District Development Commissioner about the problems faced by them in day to day life. They also submitted various developmental demands before the DC.
The people submitted memorandum and charter of demands projecting various issues including macadamization of roads, providing better supplies of drinking water and electricity facilities.
They also demanded implementation of various Government sponsored Welfare schemes on the ground so that the local population is benefitted. In addition, upgrading the education system and healthcare facilities were also raised during the camp.
The DC gave patient hearing to the demands of the people and passed on spot instructions to the concerned departments for time bound resolution of all the issues.
Responding to the public demands, the DDC said that the Outreach initiative on Block level is aimed at to listen to the grievances of the public at their doorsteps and to facilitate early redress in an efficient manner on the basis of feedback obtained through such Camps.
The DDC stressed upon the officers present to be proactive and responsive towards the public grievances and asked them to assert themselves in resolving the issues of public importance. He assured the people that all their genuine demands would be processed for early redressal.
The DDC also stressed the PRI representatives and Officers of concerned departments to work in tandem to achieve desired development targets in a set timelines
While interacting with the people, the DDC said that all the developmental activities are being supervised and monitored to ensure their timely completion. He urged the local population to come forward and avail benefits from such welfare schemes.
