Police arrest notorious drug peddler
Handwara: Police arrested a drug peddler in Handwara and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said.
He said that a checkpoint was established at Kachloo Qazipora where police officials intercepted a person in a suspicious condition who tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully.
He has been identified as Abdul Hamid Sheikh son of Abdul Rashid Sheikh resident of Kachloo Qazipora. During checking, police were able to recover 50 grams of Brown Sugar from his possession.
He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 66/2021 U/S 8/21 NDPS act under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kralgund and investigation has been taken up, the spokesman added.
