Municipal council Sopore organise awareness cum cleanliness program
Sopore: As part of celebrations under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the president municipal council Sopore Masarat Rasool Kar kick started week long cleanliness awareness under Swach Bharat Mission in north Kashmir’s Sopore town.
The awareness programme was conducted at municipal council office here in Sopore in which all Presidents of all Auqaf committees of town, municipal councilors, employees of municipal council and othe local people were take part in the program.
Speaking on the occasion, the President municipal council Masarat Rasool said that the aim of this awareness programme is to accelerate the efforts to achieve sanitation coverage in all municipal wards of town and to put the focus on cleanliness.
The future plans of scientific disposal of solid waste management were also discussed during the program. To sensitize the people about the solid waste management and ill effects of polythene, the president municipal council stressed on councilors, employees of MC and president Auqaf committees to create mass awareness at Mohallas and in wards besides installing dustbins at every localities with in the town.
At the end of the programme the appreciation certificates were distributed among various Auqaf committee Presidents to co-operate with municipal council also 100 dustbins were distributed to install in different localities of the town.
