Demand time-bound promotion

Srinagar: Employees of the Education Department Wednesday staged a protest seeking time-bound promotion.
The employees while protesting said that all their documents and files regarding promotions have been completed some months back but due to unknown reasons they are not being approved at the Directorate.
They said that files of 300 teachers and 31 non teaching staff are lying at Directorate office since two months but authorities there are not assigning reasons for any delay and the employees are being forced to raise their demands of promotion.
Javaid Ahmad, a teacher said that their files have been already cleared at district level but they are waiting for approval from the higher ups.
He said that if authorities won’t approve them within seven days, then they will be forced to come on roads.
Teachers alleged that officials at the directorate office are deliberately taking time in approving the files and issuing orders of promotion of teachers and other staff.
They said that they have brought this issue in notice of higher ups but to no avail.
They once again requested the top officials of the department to look into the matter and appealed the authorities to expedite the process of promotion without any further delay.
