Tousif Raza
At an early age, I loved to read ghazals. It was a time when we used to have competition of reciting poetry (Bayat Bazi) at school and I lost to my dear friend Junaid Ul Shafi. But my devotion used to grow up instead of diminishing because of this defeat.
It was 21st January 2021 when I received a book “Faseel e Shahar Sey” through its creator Parvez Manoos, I found the same taste of my childhood in this book and enjoyed each and every verse he has written.
Let me to open my mouth, let me to vibrate my tongue let me to say about Parvez Manoos is not only a poet but a revolution himself. He has put forth many of his books in front. He is a poet and a short story writer.
The book “Faseel e Shahar Sey” is a poetry based book. It contain odd shaped poetry (Gazal). It has 140 pages among which almost 30 pages are based on reviews and remarks about the book and all other 110 pages consist poetry.
The poetry in the book is of modern style but the technical approach of words from spiritual to mechanical metaphoric sense is strong but very beautiful. “Smell emerges from the soil, and the sky never produces flowers.” These lines are from the book mentioned actually to illustrate the beauty and strength of metaphoric approach. In this verse poet is trying to evoke a hidden truth in different way saying that this endless world is an unending dialogue between hidden and visible. Universe is expanding continuously as fragrance emerges from the flowers.
As I mentioned above I found the taste of my childhood poetry recite in Parvez’s book: it is due to the fact that it remembered me Meer the God verification and poetry in urdu as he says “Meer is ocean Let’s listen his verses, Wow what a beautiful flow he does have.” Through this you might have got me I’m saying that Parvez contains oceanic depth and a stream like flow in his words like Meer Taqi Meer posses.
Meer was born in a violent place so he contains pain like Parvez because destiny has also shown him the places of blood bath and pains. He echoes these pains in poetry as Meer did in his times. Meer says ” It is land of fear and with me, Every flower is covered with the dress of death”
Parvez Maanous has produced same pain in a different way he says ” Whose spot of blood is in my cloth, the sun is afraid of charming dawn.” I am excited to write about Parvez Maanous Bhat actually my amazement is increasing with the passage of time I feel how he has dissolved his feel and intellect in legends, how the blood of legends is streaming in his nerves.
Poet is always representative of gathering as well as a single entity. Faiz Ahmad Faiz has taught me this as he says “Beauty’s is decreasing as charm is lost if expressed. The beauty of a sinner increase as he hides his face.” This verse acts as a mirror reflection as it presents a person a single entity as well as gathering.
In this context Parvez Maanous says “Since the fragrance is imprisoned in the golden cage, The gardens are crying since this loneliness”. As an example at second place he says “In the city of thorns beautiful girls, in her innocence she is searching delinquent nature of them. Every verse written in this collection touches the heart of the reader. Its smoothness and fluency is such that the reader will not be able to leave the book without enjoying its each and every word. The poet’s temperament in his words is lovingly compiled so his temperament does not leave the reader without impressing.
The beauty of poetry in this poetry collection is widely visible, it is based on multiple dimensions it posses feel of pain, it contain beauty of thought to encourage the readers for many aspects and it also poses some terrific odes on romance, so I can say Parvez Maanous is not only a poet but a revolutionist.
He has tried to approach everyone’s heart and feel his feeling and has tried to echo them through his verses.. He says in one of his verse ” My verses are fragrant I wish to make fragrant everything in the world. Oh the Creator provides me the power to produce words like flowers.
One of the legend writers of Urdu language Shabeeb Rizvi is of the opanion about Parvez Maanous he says” Parvez Maanous is a straight forward writer, he believes in the facts that reader should be able to understand poetry in a lucid voice so that he could love it.” In conclusion I can be of the opinion that he is one among those beautiful writers who is the symbol of light in darkness to the coming generation.
He deserves a salute for this work ‘Faseel e Shahar Sey’.
