Army organizes musical festival

Srinagar: Son-èt-Lumière, one of the biggest music fest of north Kashmir organized by the army took off with startling inaugural day performances at the scenic hamlet, Parihaspora, a statement issued by the army said.
The three day musical extravaganza was inaugurated on 24 September and was graced by the presence of senior Officers from Army, CAPF, Police and civil dignitaries.
The first day of the three day music fest aptly named ‘Kashmir Ki Shaan’ showcased the local talent of Kashmir. Singers from various parts of Kashmir including Shafi Sopori, Abid Aly, Adnan, Junaid, Zaheer Khan and Amir Khan. The participants enthralled the listeners with their gifted voice.
Famous Sufi singer Shafi Sopori enchanted the audience with his mellifluous sufi songs followed by the electrifying voice of Abid Ali which captivated the gathering. Performances by various other artists added to the highlight of the day. The platform proved to be a springboard for the young budding talents of Kashmir to realize their dreams, the statement added.
The first day of the fest witnessed an overwhelming and ecstatic audience. The following days of the fest will witness much more exhilarating performances by renowned singers and performers from Kashmir and Bollywood, the statement concluded.
