DGP sanctions financial assistance, welfare relief

Srinagar: As part of welfare measures and to financially assist the families of policemen including SPOs who were killed during action the Director General of Police Dilbag Singh sanctioned rupees 1.50 lakh in favour of families of such 15 police personnel/ SPOs. He also sanctioned welfare relief of rupees 3.25 lakh in favour of retired police personnel and relatives of deceased police personnel, a police spokesman said.
He said that vide order no. 2904 of 2021 financial assistance of rupees 10 thousand each has been sanctioned in favour of kin of Inspts. Mohammad Ashraf, and Parvaiz Ahmad Dar, SgCts Manzoor Ahmad, and Mohammad Yousf, Cts. Altaf Hussain, Ashfaq Ahmad, Suhail Mushtaq, Rameez Raja, Showkat Ahmad, Waseem Ahmad, Javid Hussain, and Nissar Ahmad, SPOs Mohammad Altaf, Shafat Nazir Khan and Fayaz Ahmad Bhat. The amount has been given out of J&K Police Pariwar Fund.
The amount will be presented to them on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day, being observed on 21st October 2021.
Meanwhile, a welfare relief of rupees 3.25 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of thirteen retired and relatives of deceased police personnel for the purpose of self treatment or to meet their urgent financial needs.
The relief amount ranges between rupees fifteen thousands to rupees fifty thousand and has been sanctioned out of Retired Policemen Welfare Fund.
Police headquarters under different welfare schemes is providing financial assistance to all the ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police including the wards of martyr police personnel and wards of martyr SPOs.
