Adander Shopian residents rue lack of basic facilities

Shopian: Residents of Adander Berthipora village of Shopian district have alleged lacks of basic faciliries in the village.
The locals claim that despite living just few kilometres away from district headquarters they have been left behind on the development front.
They said that even in 21st century they are without basic amenities as since last 50 years, no one from the district administration has visited the village.
“It seems that the officials probably don’t know that the villages exists on the district map,” Shafiq, a local resident said.
Asif Hussain, another local resident said that they are living a miserable life as no one comes forward to listen to their needs or even help them.
“The village has been neglected on all fronts as it lacks prober road connectivity and potable drinking water supply,” he said.
“No one thinks about us and even we are treated as animals as no attention is being given towards our village,” said Bilal Ahmad Bhat, another local resident.
“Our children are unable to go to schools and continue their education due to no road connectivity and pesky power cuts as they are a frequent phenomenon in the area,” he said.
Locals said that they have brought this issue into the notice of concerned authorities several times but to no avail.
They once again requested higher ups to look into the matter so that the village also witnesses some development and people will heave a sigh of relief.
