Army foils infiltration bid in Poonch
Poonch: Army Saturday said that it foiled an ‘infiltration’ attempt in Krishna Ghati Sector of Poonch district of Jammu region.
Army said that after exchange of fire, infiltrators went back to the other side of the border. It said that during search operation, various items left back by infiltrators were recovered.
An army spokesman said that clothes, food, medicines and a video camera along with batteries and a memory card were recovered from the spot.
The latest infiltration attempt was the sixth in two months in the same sector, the spokesman added.
Meanwhile, a soldier sustained injuries in a landmine blast in Krishna Ghati Sector of the district.
Official sources said that a landmine went off when a patrolling party was passing through a field along the Line of Control.
One of the soldiers sustained injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment. (KNT)
