Poor cellular network irks Tral residents
Pulwama: The subscribers of private telecommunication companies like Jio and Airtel have complained about erratic calling and Internet services in several villages of Tral sub division of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Locals from Bargam, Nagpathri and its adjacent villages of Tral said that the weak signal is giving the subscribers a tough time.
They said that both the call connectivity and internet services are not up to the mark in these areas. They cannot make any calls even during emergencies. Many a times tower signal disappears suddenly, while making a call, the people alleged.
They said the call drops and erratic internet is frequent in the belt due to poor network.
“We are unable to contact our nears and dears as every time we dial the number, the network is either busy or the phone displays switched off, number does not exist or shows no network coverage mesage,” said aggrieved residents, adding that due to poor network call drops happen frequently.
“When world is witnessing 5G internet connectivity, we don’t have basic cellular connectivity to call anybody,” said Kousar Ahmad a local resident.
“We usually move to other places to make phone calls as our phones remain out of service, when we stay indoors,” he said.
“Our students are also facing problems in absence of connectivity,” Manzoor, another local said adding that our relatives also get worried when they are unable to contact us.
Locals said that they have brought this issue into the notice of concerned authorities several times but the situation did not change.
They appealed concerned authorities from the government as well as private cellular companies to install towers in their areas, so that they can avail mobile phone network facility with ease.
They have sought personal intervention of LG Manoj Sinha and Deputy Commissioner DC Pulwama Baseer Ul Haq in providing singal towers in the area so that people can avail the service.
