Govt authorizes DCs to transfer Tehsildars, NTs, Girdawars

Empowers SDMs to check attendance of employees in offices

Srinagar: The government on Thursday authorized deputy commissioners and SDMs to transfer Tehsildar(s), Naib Tehsildar(s) or Girdawar within their respective jurisdictions.
“In partial modification of Government Order No. 810- JK(GAD) of 2020 dated 01.09.2020, it is hereby ordered that the transfer of Tehsildar(s), Naib Tehsildar(s) or Girdawar(s) shall be effected by the Divisional Commissioners concerned, who shall place their services at the disposal of Deputy Commissioners, for further posting within their respective districts,” reads a government order.
“It is further ordered that all Deputy Commissioners shall be competent to effect transfersJ/postings of the Tehsildar(s), Naib Tehsildar(s), Girdawar(s) and Patwari(s), within their respective districts, and also to assign the charge of any such vacant posts, till regular arrangement in respect of such vacant posts is made,” the order reads, adding, “Further, the transfers and postings of Naib Tehsildar(s), Girdawar(s) and Patwari(s) can also be made by the Sub Divisional Magistrates, within their respective jurisdictions, who are also authorized to assign the charge of any such vacant post, till regular arrangement is made.”
Meanwhile, the government also empowered SDM’s to supervise all developmental works and to check developmental works and attendance of employees in all Government offices within their respective jurisdictions in Jammu and Kashmir.
“In continuation of the instructions issued on the subject from time to time, it is hereby ordered that the Sub Divisional Magistrates shall be empowered to supervise all developmental works and to check attendance of employees in all Government offices within their respective jurisdictions,” reads a government orders.
“The reports thereof, shall however be submitted to the concerned Deputy Commissioners for further action,” the order added.
